Abu Burda, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated: I came to Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her. She brought out a thick Yemeni shawl and another garment they called “Mulebbad,” which is a garment with an additional layer of the same fabric sewn onto the chest. She said, "I swear by Allah, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, died wearing this garment."

Abdullah ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, related:

When the Kharijites emerged, I came to Ali, may Allah be pleased with him. He ordered me to go to them and say something to them. I put on a garment of the finest Yemeni cloth. (I went to them in that attire.)

The narrator, Abu Zumayl, said: Ibn Abbas was a handsome man with a loud voice. Ibn Abbas continued: When I reached them, they greeted me, saying, "O Ibn Abbas, what is this garment?" I replied to them, “What do you find fault with regarding this garment? By Allah, I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, wearing the finest of garments.”

Abu Dawud says: The name of Abu Zumayl is Simak ibn al-Walid al-Hanafi.
