CHAPTER 12 – Washing Your Hands Before Meals
It is narrated from Salman, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said:
I read in the Torah that the blessing of food is washing the hands before eating. I mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The blessing of food is washing them before and after.” (Sufyan, may Allah be pleased with him, disliked washing the hands before eating.)
Abu Dawud said: This hadith is weak. [419]
