MEDICAL SECTION · 4 – WHERE IS THE PLACE FOR BLOODLETTING?

3859 – Abū Kabsha al-Anmārī (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Thawbān: The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) had blood let from his head and from between his two shoulder blades, and said: “Whoever lets out these bloods, then it will not harm him if he seeks treatment for another illness by another means.” [475]

3860 – It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) had blood let three times from the veins on both sides of his neck and from his back. Maʿmar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: One day I had blood let, and I lost my senses to such an extent that I could not even recite al-Fātiḥa by heart in my prayer. Maʿmar had blood let from his head. [476]
