From his grandfather, Amr bin Shu’ayb has related:

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not accept the testimony of a man or woman who betrayed a trust, nor of one who harbored malice towards a Muslim brother or sister. He also rejected the testimony of someone dependent on a household in their favor. However, he accepted testimony they gave in favor of others.

Abu Dawud said: Ghmr means animosity and enmity.

Ghani refers to someone bound to another’s service and command like a paid employee.
