A Firm March from Darul Erkam Against the Polytheists
Umar (RA) said: “When I was a Muslim and the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions were hiding from the polytheists:124 ‘O Messenger of Allah! Whether we live or die, are we not on the right path?’ I asked. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH): ‘Yes!126 By Allah, whose power is in His hand, whether you live or die,127 you are certainly on the right path!’ he said.128 Then: ‘O Messenger of Allah! Since we are on the right path and they are on the wrong path, why do we hide our religion?! By Allah, we are more worthy and deserving to explain Islam against disbelief! Allah’s religion will surely prevail in Mecca!’ I said.129 If my people want to attack us, we will fight them. If they want to be just, we will accept it!’130 The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: ‘We are very few in number!’, I swore by Allah, who sent you as a prophet with the true religion and scripture:131 there will not be a single assembly of disbelief left where we do not sit and explain the fundamentals of Islam without hesitation or fear!132 By Allah, who sent you as a prophet with the true religion and scripture: we will surely come out!’ I said.134 We went out in two rows.
