A Prophetic Message to Suraka
When he wanted to return to Suraka,[272] our Prophet (a.s.) said to him: “O Suraka! How will you be when you put on your arm the bracelets of Kisra, wear his belt, and put on his crown?!”[274] Suraka asked in amazement, “Is it King of Kings Kisra b. Hurmuz?”[275] Our Prophet (a.s.) said, “Yes!”[276] and informed Suraka that the High Allah had given him the good news that the lands of Persia would be conquered and the wealth of Kisra would be distributed as spoils to his companions.[277] When Kisra’s bracelets, belt, and crown were brought to Medina during the conquest of Iran, Hazrat Umar called Suraka and put these on him! Suraka was a hairy man. Hazrat Umar said to him: “O Suraka! Raise your hands and say ‘Allahu Akbar! Praise be to Allah who took these from Kisra b. Hurmuz who said ‘I am the Lord of mankind!’ and gave them to Suraka b. Malik b. Ju’shum, one of the Mudhlij tribe!’”[278]
