An Incident Once Encountered According to the narration, the women of the Quraysh of Mecca would gather in the Sacred Mosque (Masjid al-Ḥarām) during the month of Rajab, on the festival, and hold a ceremony; nothing would prevent them from coming and participating in this festival. On one such day, while the Quraysh women were gathered in the Mosque, beside the idol, a man suddenly appeared, came up to them, and cried out in the loudest voice: “O women of Taymā, O assembly of Quraysh women! It will not be long before, among you, in your land, a prophet known by the name Aḥmad will appear and be sent! Whichever of you women can become his wife, let her do so at once!”

Upon hearing this, all the women threw stones at the man, insulted him, and spoke harsh words. Lady Khadīja, however, upon hearing his words, lowered her head and pretended not to hear, did not object in any way, and even began to hope because of it. Zurqānī, 1/200.
