Ebu Hayseme's Guidance Until Uhud
“Who will guide us and lead us to them without being noticed by the polytheists, through a nearby path?” he asked. Abu Haysamah said: “I am here, O Rasulullah!” and led the Islamic army through the territory of Banu Haritha, to the garden of Mirba1 b. Kayzî, who was blind and a hypocrite. When Mirba1 heard the voice of our Prophet (peace be upon him) and the Muslims, he stood up to throw dirt on their faces and said: “If you are indeed Rasulullah, I do not permit you to enter my garden!” He took a handful of dirt in his hand and said: “By Allah, O Muhammad, if I knew that this dirt would hit anyone but you, I would certainly throw it at your face!” Thereupon, the companions tried to kill him. Our Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded: “Do not kill him! His eyes are blind, and his heart is also blind!” However, Sa’d b. Zeyd acted before our Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade his killing, shooting an arrow that wounded Mirba1’s head.[161]
