Some Polytheists Drinking from the Islamic Well
Some polytheists, including Hakîm b. Hizam, came to drink water from the Islamic well. When Muslims tried to prevent them, our Prophet (PBUH) said: “Let them be, let them drink!” They drank. Except for Hakîm b. Hizam, all who drank were killed in the Battle of Badr.[193] Hakîm b. Hizam later became a Muslim and adorned his Islam with good deeds. When he wanted to emphasize an oath, he would say: “No! I swear by Allah who saved me from being killed at Badr!”[194] May Allah be pleased with him![195]
