Talha b. Ubeydullah's Purchase and Endowment of Na'man Well

At Zû Kared’, he encountered a water source called Beysan and asked about its name. “O Messenger of Allah! Its name is Beysan and it is very salty and bitter!” it was said. Our Prophet (PBUH) said: “No! Its name is Na’man and its water is sweet!”[184] When our Prophet (PBUH) changed its name, the Almighty Allah also changed its taste, removing its bitterness. Talha b. Ubeydullah bought this well and endowed it.[185] At the same time, he slaughtered a camel and hosted a feast for the people.[186] Upon this, our Prophet (PBUH) said; “O Talha! You are Talhatü’l-Feyyaz!”[187]
