The Attempted Assassination of Our Prophet (pbuh) by Three Jews in Busra and Their Deterrence by Monk Bahira

According to the narration; during our Prophet’s (a.s.) journey to Damascus with his uncle Abu Talib, the things that Monk Bahira saw in our Prophet (a.s.), were also seen by people named Zebir, Temmam and Deriş from the People of the Book,[454] Jews[455], [456],[457],[458]. They planned to kill our Prophet (a.s.). They discussed this with Monk Bahira as well, and they talked. [460] These Jews thought that Monk Bahira would also agree on the assassination of our Prophet (a.s.)[461] Monk Bahira strongly dissuaded them from doing so.[462] He reminded them of Allah. He told them that they had found the mention and attributes of the coming prophet in the Book, and even if they wanted to kill him, they would not be able to do so.[463] He asked them: “Didn’t you find his attributes in the Book?” They said: “Yes! We found it.” Bahira said: “Then, there is no way or possibility for you to kill him!”[464] Upon this, they were convinced of the truthfulness of what Bahira had said and left our Prophet (a.s.), returned and went back.[465] Abu Talib also, upon the advice of Monk Bahira, returned to Mecca with our Prophet (a.s.) immediately from there.
