The Battle Formation of the Hevâzin Armies
1. At the forefront of Hevâzin’s armies were the cavalry, 2. Behind the cavalry were the infantry soldiers, 3. Behind the infantry soldiers were women and children, 4. Behind the women and children were livestock, 5. Behind the livestock were camels, 6. And behind the camels were cows.[58] Abdullah b. Ebi Hadrad stayed in Hevâzin’s camp for two days,[59] then returned and reported everything he had seen and heard to our Prophet (PBUH).[60] Our Prophet (PBUH) called Hz. Ömer to his side. He told him what Abdullah b. Ebi Hadrad had reported. Hz. Ömer said, “Ibn Ebi Hadrad is lying!” Ibn Ebi Hadrad said, “O Ömer! You are calling me a liar now, but at one time you denied the Truth! The One whom you denied then was better than I am!” Hz. Ömer said, “Yâ Rasûlallah! Did you hear what Ibn Ebi Hadrad said?”[61] Our Prophet (PBUH) said, “He is telling the truth![62] O Ömer! You had strayed from the path, and Allah guided you to the right path!”[63]
