The Earthquake of Medina and the Arrival of Fourteen Women at Uhud
According to Enes b. Malik; when the news “Muhammed Aleyhisselam was martyred!” was heard in Medina on the day of Uhud, every part of Medina shook with piercing screams. When the news that the Muslims were defeated and our Prophet Aleyhisselam was martyred reached Medina, fourteen women also ran to Uhud.[494] Enes b. Malik says: “When people scattered and fled during the Battle of Uhud, I saw Âişe binti Ebu Bekir and Ümmü Süleym binti Milhan. They had water skins behind them, quickly carrying water, pouring it into the mouths of the wounded. As soon as they emptied their water skins, they would hurry back to refill them, then rush to pour water into the mouths of the wounded.”[495]
