The Letter of Zakat Written by the Prophet (PBUH) to Anas bin Malik through Abu Bakr
When Abu Bakr was about to send Anas bin Malik as a zakat collector to Bahrain, he had the following written for Anas bin Malik from the letter of our Prophet (PBUH) regarding zakat[365] and sealed it with the seal impression of our Prophet (PBUH)[366]: “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. This is a document of the zakat obligation commanded by Allah to His Messenger and made obligatory for Muslims by the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). If any Muslim is asked for zakat in the amount mentioned in this document, that Muslim should give this zakat. If more than this is asked, he should not give the excess.[367]
