The Prophet's Mercy and Compassion
Our Prophet (PBUH) understood that the Sakif tribe would not bring good,161 and he was saddened 162 and disappointed 163 that he had not been able to make anyone, neither a man nor a woman, accept Islam. He left Taif and headed towards Mecca.164 One day, Hazrat Aisha asked the Prophet (PBUH): “O Messenger of Allah! Has a day more difficult than the Day of Uhud come upon you?” The Prophet (PBUH) replied: “What have I not endured from your people! Indeed, what I endured on the Day of Akaba because of them was the most difficult of all: When I went to Taif and presented myself to the Abd Yalil tribe, asking for their help, they did not accept my request but rejected it. 3/136.
