The Prophet's Sacrifice and Slaughter
going to the place of sacrifice: [487] “This is the place of sacrifice! [488] Every side of Mina is a place of sacrifice[489] Sacrifices are made on all days of Tashriq! [490] Slaughter your sacrifices in the places where you are staying! [491] All streets and roads of Mecca are also places of sacrifice!” he said. [492] Our Prophet, peace be upon him, slaughtered sixty-three camels with his own hands as many years as the number of years of his life, then gave the knife to Hazrat Ali. The remaining ones were also slaughtered by Hazrat Ali. Our Prophet, peace be upon him, ordered that a piece from each camel’s meat be taken. These were placed in a pot and cooked. Both our Prophet, peace be upon him, and Hazrat Ali ate from it. [494] Our Prophet, peace be upon him, ordered Hazrat Ali to distribute the meats, skins, and entrails of the camels to the poor. [495] “Do not give the heads and feet of the sacrifices as payment for the butcher!” he said, [496] it was not given. [497]
