Zebîr b. Bata's Confession and Denial of the Truth

One of the great Jewish scholars, Zebir b. Bata; after his father’s death and before our Prophet (a.s.) was sent as a prophet; said, “I found a book that my father read to me, which states: ‘The Prophet Ahmed will emerge from the land of karaz (selem tree). His attributes will be such and such!’” He continued. When he heard that our Prophet (a.s.) had appeared in Mecca, he destroyed the book in his hand and hid the state and glory of our Prophet (a.s.): “There is no information about him at all,” he said.[238]
