ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. ʿUmar b. Muḥammad b. Nabātah Abū Naṣr al-Saʿdī. He is a poet. There is no one who writes beautiful poetry like him. The following poem belongs to him:
“If you cannot defeat the enemy, then manage with him. And go according to his nature and disposition. This is a complete reconciliation. Just like the harmony of water with fire. Yet water is the opposite of fire. This gives perfect maturity. Indeed, fire is burning.”
In this year, the jurist ʿAbdulghaffār b. ʿAbdurraḥmān Abū Bakr b. Dīnawarī, from the madhhab of Sufyān al-Thawrī, passed away. He was the last person to give fatwā according to the madhhab of Sufyān al-Thawrī at the al-Manṣūr Mosque in Baghdad. The administration of al-Manṣūr Mosque was entrusted to him. He died in this year. He was buried behind the al-Ḥākim Mosque.
