He became famous by the name Ṭāhir. He was from Nisābūr. He was a ḥadīth ḥāfiẓ (memorizer of ḥadīth). He traveled to many towns for the purpose of collecting ḥadīth. He listened to many ḥadīth scholars. He transmitted ḥadīth. In this year, at a young age, death quickly caught up with him in the city of Hamadān.
ʿAlī b. Abīyāʿlā
His kunyah was Abū'l-Qāsim al-Dabusī. After al-Mutawallī, he taught as a mudarris (teacher) at the Nizāmiyya madrasa. He listened to some ḥadīth. He was an expert in fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence). He was a debater so skilled as to dazzle the eyes.
