His kunyah (teknonym) was Abū'l-Ḥasan. He was a qurrāʾ (Qurʾānic reader). He was known by the nickname Ḥammāmī. He heard ḥadīth from Najād, Ḥuldī, Ibn Sammāk, and others.
He was a truthful, virtuous person with sound ʿitikād (creed).
He had narrations regarding the isnāds (chains of transmission) of qirāʾāt (Qurʾānic readings) that others did not accept.
He died in the month of Shaʿbān of this year at the age of eighty-nine.
