ʿIzzeddīn Masʿūd b. Mawdūd b. Zangī. He served as the governor of Mosul for about thirteen years. He was among the distinguished rulers. The martyr Nūr al-Dīn used to attribute him to his uncle. When he passed away, he was buried in the tomb next to the madrasa he had built in Mosul. May Allah reward him and have mercy on him.
