Bedreddin Abu Abdillah Muḥammad b. Kamaleddin Aḥmad b. Abī'l-Fath b. Abī'l-Wahsh Asad b. Sulaymā b. Sulaymān b. Fityān al-Shaybānī. He was known by the name Ibn ʿAṭṭār. He was born in the year 670 AH. He listened to a great number of ḥadīth. He wrote in a style unique to himself. He read the work titled Tanbīh. He composed poetry. He served as a registry clerk. Afterwards, he was appointed as the minister of the army and the minister responsible for the affairs of the notables. He was a person of esteem during the time of Efrem. Later, he fell from favor. He lived a life of abundance and luxury. He possessed great wealth and authority. He passed away after the twentieth of the month of Dhū al-Qaʿda in that year. He was buried in the Qasyūn Cemetery. May Allah have mercy on him.
