Bukhari, through Zuhayr b. Harb, narrates from Abu Hurayra as follows:
"After hearing three things from the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him), I have always loved the Banu Tamim tribe.
I continue to love them. For the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) also said the following about them: 'They are the most severe of my umma (community) against the Dajjal (Antichrist).'
A slave girl from the Banu Tamim tribe was with Ḥadrat ʿĀʾisha. The Messenger of God addressed Ḥadrat ʿĀʾisha as follows:
'Set her free, for she is of the descendants of the Prophet Ismaʿil.'
When the zakat (obligatory alms) collected from the Banu Tamim tribe arrived, the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
'These are the zakat of the tribe (or my tribe).'
This hadith rejects the poem of the poet who disparaged the Banu Tamim tribe:
'The Tamim tribe knows the path of baseness better than a cat. Even if they go on the right path, they stray. If a flea or a louse is on its back and the Tamim tribe sees it, they turn back.'
