When Suwayd established a garrison in Komes, Jurjan, Tabaristan, and other surrounding provinces sent delegations to him, requesting peace in exchange for paying the jizya (poll tax). He then concluded peace treaties with all of these provinces. He wrote and sent letters of security and peace to the people of each province. According to what Madāʾinī relates, the city of Jurjan was conquered in the thirtieth year of the Hijra, during the caliphate of ʿUthmān. Allah knows best.
