Ḥāfiẓ Muḥammad b. Aḥmad b. Ibrāhīm b. Sulaymān b. Muḥammad. Abū Aḥmad al-ʿAṣṣāl al-Isfahānī. One of the great ḥadīth ḥuffāẓ (memorizers), imams, and leading ʿulamāʾ (scholars). He listened to and transmitted ḥadīth, and others also listened to and transmitted ḥadīth from him. Ibn Mandaḥ said: "Yesterday I listened to and wrote from a ḥadīth scholar, but I have not seen anyone as intelligent and as precise in his work as him."
Abū Aḥmad al-ʿAṣṣāl passed away in the month of Ramaḍān of this year. May Allah have mercy on him. Truly, the Most High Allah, who is free from deficiencies, knows best.
