Zuhra b. ʿAlī b. Zuhra al-ʿAlawī al-Ḥusaynī al-Ḥalabī. He was the Naqīb al-Ashrāf (chief of the noble descendants) in Ḥalab. He was a virtuous and well-mannered person. He knew history, sīra (Prophetic biography), ḥadīth, and the reports about people. His memory was strong. He had memorized the Qurʾān al-Karīm. He composed beautiful poetry. One of his poems is as follows:
"Because of separation, I saw the beloved's eyes protruding. Time has had a very bad effect, leaving terrible marks upon them. The hand of events and calamities has caused unwanted conditions in them.
He has been humiliated and transformed into a completely different state.
While he was honored, he has become humiliated, as if time never protected him at all."
