Hibatullah b. Hasan b. Mansur al-Rāzī. Originally from Tabaristan. He was a student of Shaykh Abū Ḥanīfa al-Isfarāyinī. He possessed strong intellect and memory. He engaged in ḥadīth studies. He produced many works related to ḥadīth, but death overtook him before his books became famous. He had a book titled "al-Sunnah wa al-Sharaf" (The Sunnah and Its Honor). In this book, he explained the perspectives of the salaf al-ṣāliḥīn (the righteous predecessors) regarding the sunnah. He passed away in Dīnawar during the month of Ramaḍān of that year. After his death, a man saw him in a dream and asked, "How did Allah treat you?" He replied, "He forgave me." The man then asked a second question, "For what reason did He forgive you?" He answered: "Because of the little sunnah I revived."
