He was the founder of the Eminiye waqf in Baalbek. He was the vizier of Ṣāliḥ Ismāʿīl. He also served as a military commander. He brought misfortune both upon himself and his sultan. He caused the loss of the blessings he possessed as well as those of his sultan. He was a bad vizier. Sibt stated that he disregarded religion and in reality was irreligious. Because he was killed within this year, Almighty Allah saved all Muslims from him. When Ṣāliḥ Ismāʿīl disappeared in the land of Egypt, some of the emirs attacked him and Ibn Yaghmūr. They both were executed by hanging, facing each other, in the fortress of Egypt. Eminü'd-Devle Gazzāl had possessions worth 3,000,000 dinars, including jewels and belongings. Among these were 10,000 volumes of books written in very exquisite calligraphy.
