Emir Izzeddīn Aydemir b. ʿAbdullāh

Emir Izzeddīn Aydemir b. ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥalabī al-Ṣāliḥī was among the great and esteemed emirs in the presence of the rulers. Later, he also attained high ranks alongside Sultan Malik al-Ẓāhir. The Sultan would appoint him as his deputy during his absence. At the beginning of this year, the Sultan had taken him with him. He passed away in the fortress of Dimashq and was buried in his tomb near Yāġmūriyya. He left behind a considerable amount of wealth. He entrusted the Sultan with the care of his children. The Sultan attended the mourning assembly held at the Dimashq Mosque.
