He was among the great emirs. At one time, he served as ḥājib (chamberlain).
He repaired the canal in Jerusalem. This year, on the seventh of Rabiʿ al-Awwal, on a Monday, he passed away. He was buried in his tomb located to the north of Bāb al-Farādis. This was a beautiful and famous tomb. Deputies and emirs also came to his funeral, which was held in Sūq al-Ḥayl.
