Al-Wāqidī said: They came as a delegation of 100 people under the leadership of Masʿūd b. Ruhayla in the year the Battle of the Trench was fought, and they stayed as guests in the Selʿ quarter. The Messenger of God (peace be upon him) went to them and ordered that dates be given to them in loads.
In another narration, it is stated as follows: They came after the Messenger of God (peace be upon him) had completed the expedition against the Banū Qurayẓa, and they were 700 people. After the Messenger of God (peace be upon him) bade them farewell, they returned. Later, they became Muslim.
