This individual participated in the Battle of Badr. He is the husband of the woman mentioned in the noble verse (āya) that we will relate below, namely, Khawla bint Thaʿlaba.
"Allah has certainly heard the statement of the woman who argues with you, [O Muhammad], concerning her husband and directs her complaint to Allah. And Allah hears your dialogue; indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing." (al-Mujādila 58:1)
