Malik al-Muʿayyad ʿImād al-Dīn Ismāʿīl ibn Malik al-Afdal Nūr al-Dīn ʿAlī ibn Malik Muzaffar Taqī al-Dīn Maḥmūd ibn Malik Manṣūr Naṣr al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Malik Muzaffar Taqī al-Dīn ʿUmar ibn Shāhinshāh ibn Ayyūb. He advanced in many sciences such as fiqh, astronomy, medicine, and similar fields. He prepared a two-volume history along with various classification works. He loved scholars and shared in many sciences with them. He was among the virtuous personalities of the Ayyūbid descendants. From the year 721 AH until this time, he ruled as the malik of Hama. Malik Naṣir honored and respected him. After him, his son Afdal ʿAlī ascended the throne. He passed away on Thursday, the twenty-eighth of the month of Muḥarram, at the time of ʿaṣr prayer. At the time of mid-morning, he was buried outside Hama next to the graves of his mother and father.
