He transmitted many ḥadīth from the mashāyikh (spiritual masters) in individual narrations. Among the ḥadīth mashāyikh who were his teachers was Abū Bakr b. Mālik al-Katīʿ, from whom he was the last person to transmit ḥadīth.

Hasan b. ʿAlī passed away in the month of Dhu al-Qaʿdah of that year.
