Hasan b. Ghalib b. ʿAlī b. Ghalib b. Manṣūr b. Saʿlūq Abū ʿAlī al-Tamīmī. He became famous by the name Ibn Mubārak. He was a qurrāʾ (Qurʾānic reciter). He associated with Abū Saman. He recited the Qurʾān in ways and styles that were rejected by others. It was established that he lied. He did this either intentionally or by mistake. He was accused in many of his narrations. Abū Bakr al-Kāzvīnī was also among those who rejected him. The head of the ʿiẓhār (warning) wrote him a letter to prevent him from reciting in the manner of the munkir (denier). Ibn Muḥammad al-Samarqandī said that he was a liar. He died at the age of eighty-two in this sanad (chain of transmission). He was buried next to Ibrāhīm al-Ḥarbī. Ibn Ḥallīkān said:
“He learned fiqh from Abū’l-Fath Naṣr b. Muḥammad al-ʿUmarī al-Marwazī. Then he became more interested in ḥadīth knowledge and became famous in this science. He traveled to various places for the purpose of collecting ḥadīth.”
