Hasan b. Hafs

Hasan b. Hafs Abū'l-Futūḥ al-ʿAlawī Emir of Mecca Hasan b. Ḥusayn. His kunyah was Abū ʿAlī al-Burjumī. He served as vizier to Sharafī al-Dawla for two years. Afterwards, he was dismissed. He was a highly respected person in his time. He was the one who established the hospital in the city of Wāsiṭ. He appointed physicians there. He allocated medicines and wines. He endowed a sufficient amount of waqf and dedicated it to that place. He passed away at the age of about eighty in this year. May Allah have mercy on him.
