Hatib Imam ʿAlīm ʿImād al-Dīn Abū Ḥafs

ʿImād al-Dīn Abū Ḥafs ʿUmar al-Ḥātib Zāhir al-Dīn ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn Yaḥyā ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAlī ibn Jāʿfar ibn ʿAbdullāh ibn Ḥasan al-Kurashī al-Zuhrī. He was from Nablus. He served as the khatīb (preacher) of Jerusalem. For a long time, he also served as a qāḍī (judge) in Nablus. Afterwards, he was appointed both the khatīb and the qāḍī of Jerusalem. He was a virtuous person engaged in knowledge. He wrote a commentary (sharḥ) on Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim in several volumes. He had a strong memory, quickly memorizing and swiftly writing down things. He passed away on the night of Tuesday, the tenth of Muḥarram of this year. He was buried in the Mamila Cemetery. May Allah have mercy on him.
