Zaynaddīn Abu Hafs ʿUmar b. Makkī b. ʿAbdussāmid al-Shāfiʿī, known by the name Ibn Mighrāl, was the father of Shaykh Ṣadraddīn b. Wakūʿīn. He studied ḥadīth.
He advanced in fiqh and many other sciences. He also took his share in astronomy. He authored a work on astronomy. He was appointed as the khāṭīb (preacher) of Dimashq and taught lessons. He issued fatwā. He passed away on the night of Saturday, the 23rd of Rabiʿ al-Awwal of this year. The next day, the funeral prayer was performed at Bab al-Ḥiṭābah.
Shaykh ʿIzzaddīn al-Fārūsī
He served briefly as the khāṭīb of Dimashq. Then he was dismissed. He died some time later. He was buried in the Bab al-Ṣaghīr cemetery. May Allah forgive us and him.
