In this year, the caliph Qādir Billāh passed away. His son Qāʾim Bi-Amrillāh became the caliph in his place. An explanation regarding this will be given later.

In this year, a great war occurred between the Sunnis and the Rafidah. The Sunnis were victorious over them. They killed many of the Rafidah. They plundered the Karh neighborhood and the house of Sharīf Murtadā. The people looted the houses of the Jews, accusing them of aiding the Rafidah. The looting spread to many houses. The discord (fitna) spread widely. Afterwards, it calmed down.

In this year, thieves and pickpockets spread as a great scourge in the remote corners and all around the city. They dared to commit many evil deeds. They plundered many houses and places, both secretly and openly. They did this incessantly day and night. Truly, the Exalted Allah, who is free from deficiencies, knows best.
