In this year, Jarrāḥ b. ʿAbdallāh al-Ḥakamī launched a military expedition against the land of Lan. He conquered numerous fortresses located beyond Belencer and annexed vast surrounding territories. He obtained abundant spoils of war and took some of the Turkish children captive.
When Muslim b. Saʿīd besieged a major city in the Turkish lands belonging to Sogd, the governor of that city made a peace treaty with him in exchange for a large amount of goods and money.
Saʿīd b. ʿAbd al-Malik b. Marwān also launched a military expedition against the Byzantine lands in this year. Before going himself, he sent a vanguard detachment of 1,000 cavalry, but all of them were killed.
On the Friday five days before the end of the month of Shaʿbān in the year 105 AH, the trustworthy one of the believers, Yazīd b. ʿAbd al-Malik b. Marwān, passed away in the town of Irbit, which is attached to Balqāʾ. At the time of his death, his age was between thirty and forty.
