In this year, the caliph Mansur dismissed Yazid b. Hatim from the governorship of Egypt and appointed Muhammad b. Saʿid in his place. He also sent word to the governor of Ifriqiya, commanding him to appear before him, for he had heard that the governor had engaged in rebellion and disobeyed his orders. When the governor of Ifriqiya appeared before him, Mansur ordered that he be executed by beheading.

In this year, Mansur dismissed Jabir b. Zayd al-Kilabi from the governorship of Basra and appointed Yazid b. Mansur in his place. In this year, the Kharijites killed Maʿan b. Zaʾida, the governor of Sijistan.

Among the notable figures who died in this year were ʿAbbad b. Maʿsur and Yunus b. Yazid al-Ayli.
