Hasan b. Ibrāhīm b. Ḥusayn b. Hasan b. ʿAlī b. Ḥuld b. Rashīd b.
ʿUbaydullāh b. Sulaymān b. Zawlaq. His kunyah is Abū Muḥammad al-Miṣrī. He is a ḥadīth ḥāfiẓ (memorizer of ḥadīth). He compiled a book as a supplement to the work of Abū ʿUmar Muḥammad b. Yūsuf b. Yaʿqūb al-Kindī concerning the judges of Egypt. He completed this work up to the year 246 AH. Ibn Zawlaq also wrote a supplement to the work of Qāḍī Bakkār and completed it by the year 386 AH, which was during the time of Muḥammad b. Numān. This person was the judge of the Fatimids. He is the author of a work entitled al-Balāgh. In this work, he made refutations against Qāḍī Bakillānī. He is the brother of ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Numān. Allah knows best.
Ibn Zawlaq passed away at the age of eighty-one in the late month of Dhū al-Qaʿda of this year.
