His patronymic is Abū'l-Qāsim al-Kilābī. He belonged to the Shāfiʿī madhhab (legal school). He listened to hadith from Ḥāris b. Miskīn and others. He was a righteous man. He affiliated himself with the Shāfiʿī madhhab. He liked to withdraw into seclusion and to live a reclusive life. He passed away in the month of Shaʿbān of this year.
Among the Sufism (taṣawwuf) shaykhs who lived a long life and narrated many hadith, Aḥmad b. Ḥasan is also one of the famous figures who died in this year.
