Kemaleddīn Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Ḥibetullāh b. Shīrāzī al-Dimashqī. He was born in the year 670 AH. He listened to ḥadīth. He took fiqh lessons from Shaykh Ṭajāddīn al-Faẓārī and Shaykh Zaynuddīn al-Fārūqī. He memorized the Mukhtaṣar of al-Muzanī. He taught at the Badrāʾiyya Madrasa. Later, until the time of his death, he served for several years as a mudarris (teacher) at Nāṣiriyyat al-Jawwāniyya. He was one of the leading great scholars of his time. He served multiple times as the chief qāḍī (judge) of Dimashq. He was a person who fulfilled his duties properly and had a pleasant demeanor. He passed away on the third day of the month of Ṣafar that year. He was buried in his tomb at the Qāsyūn Cemetery. May Allah have mercy on him.
