Qāḍī Takīyyüddīn, who traveled to various towns for the purpose of collecting ḥadīth, lived a long life, and transmitted ḥadīth with their isnāds (chains of transmission). His lineage is as follows: Takīyyüddīn Sulaymān b. Ḥamza b. Aḥmad b. ʿUmar b. Shaykh Abū ʿUmar al-Maqdisī. He belonged to the Ḥanbalī madhhab. He served as a judge in Dimashq. He was born in the middle of the month of Rajab in the year 628 AH. He heard a great number of ḥadīth. He was self-taught. He learned fiqh. He became a scholar of a high degree. He served as a judge. He transmitted ḥadīth. He was among the distinguished and virtuous people, known for his generosity and good character. After returning from Beled and serving as a judge in Jawziyya, he passed away suddenly.
When he arrived at his house in Dayr, he fell ill and died there on Monday night after the ʿIshāʾ prayer on the twenty-first of Dhū al-Qaʿda. The next day he was buried in his grandfather's tomb. A large crowd attended the funeral ceremony. May Allah have mercy on him.
Shaykh ʿAlī b. Shaykh ʿAlī al-Ḥarīrī
He was the leader of his group. He lost his father at the age of two. He passed away in the month of Jumādā al-ʾAwwal of this year and was buried in the village of Nasīr.
