Kadilkudatmecdüddīn Abdurrahman b. Cemaleddin

Mecdüddīn Abdurrahman b. Cemaleddin Ömer b. Ahmed b. Adim. He was from Ḥalab. Later, he settled in Dimashq. He belonged to the Ḥanafī madhhab. After Ibn ʿAṭā, he was appointed as the Ḥanafī qāḍī (judge) in Dimashq. The son of a leader, he was a leader himself, possessing ihsān (spiritual excellence), karāma (a saintly wonder), and good character. He was appointed as the khatīb (preacher) of the great mosque of Cairo. He was the first Ḥanafī scholar appointed there. He passed away in the month of Rabīʿ al-Ākhir of that year in his small mansion in Dimashq. He was buried in the türbe (tomb) he had built next to the Zāwiyat al-Ḥarīrī located on the Sheref al-Qābilī hill west of Zaytūn Mosque.
