He fell to the ground while playing ball on horseback in the Caliph's square. His brain flowed from his ear, and he died at that moment. He was among the good and distinguished commanders. People were greatly saddened by his death. A large number of people attended the funeral ceremony. He passed away in the month of Shawwāl of this year.
In this year, the tax collector of Kūfa, Emir Bargush, led people in the pilgrimage. The great emir Shīrkūh b. Ṣādi had also served as the commander of the pilgrimage. He was the commander of Nūr al-Dīn's soldiers. He distributed a large amount of charity.
In this year, the judge Zakīyüddīn Abū'l-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā Abū'l-Ḥasan al-Qurayshī resigned from the judgeship of Damascus. Nūr al-Dīn accepted his resignation and appointed Judge Kamāl al-Dīn Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh al-Shahrizūrī in his place. He was among the distinguished and good judges and gave much charity. There were ongoing charitable endowments continuing after him. He was a learned person. On Fridays, the Eyvān al-Kamālī, where the judges used to sit, located on the western side of the Umayyad Mosque, belonged to him. Allah knows best.
