The Shaykh was a pious and virtuous man. He was a qurrāʾ (Qur'an reciter). His lineage is as follows: Shihāb al-Dīn Aḥmad ibn Ṭabīb ibn ʿUbaydullāh al-Ḥillī al-ʿAzīzī al-Fawārisī. He was known by the name Ibn Ḥalabiyya. He heard hadith from al-Ḥātib Mardāw ibn ʿAbd al-Dāʾim. He pursued knowledge. He taught the Qur'an to people. He passed away at the age of seventy-eight in the month of Rabīʿ al-Awwal of this year. He was buried in the Qāsyūn Cemetery.
