Masʿūd b. Aḥmad b. Masʿūd

Masʿūd b. Aḥmad b. Masʿūd b. Māzin al-Muḥāribī. He is among the virtuous fuqahāʾ (jurists) of the Ḥanafīs. He possessed knowledge of tafsīr (Qur'anic exegesis) and ḥadīth. He was a person of virtue and merit. He came to Baghdad for ḥajj (pilgrimage) accompanying the Tatar ambassador. He was imprisoned for several years. Then he was released and performed the ḥajj. Afterwards, he returned. He passed away this year in Baghdad. May Almighty Allah have mercy upon him.
