He served as deputy muḥtasib (market inspector) in place of Ṣadr al-Bakrī. He learned the sciences of qirāʾāt (Qur'anic readings). He also taught this to many. He listened to and transmitted ḥadīth. He wrote many ḥadīth in his own handwriting. He passed away this year. May Almighty Allah have mercy on him.
